- Mondonna was born and raised in a small town, the black-eyed pea capital of the world, Athens, Texas. She got her Bachelors in Psychology minoring in Sociology. She is currently a full-time student in the Counseling & Development: Marriage, Couples, & Family Therapy program at Lamar University distance learning program and is now starting her practicum in 2020. She plans to graduate in the fall of 2021 or spring of 2022. She is an active/ lifetime member of the International Honor Society in Psychology (Psi Chi), an active member of Kappa Delta Pi (KDP) Honor Society, and member of the American Counseling Association as well.
Mondonna has a background in customer service, caregiving through assisted living, recordkeeping, data entry, and other administrative positions. Mondonna began serving the public through volunteering while in high school at a nursing home, where her grandmother was employed. She grew up volunteering with her church as well. She volunteered in 2007 in Texas and 2009 in South Carolina with the Special Olympics.
While living in South Carolina, she volunteered with a children’s home, where she earned a service award for her years of service from 2009 - 2011 from the children’s home and a Presidential Award for service from President Barack Obama. After relocating back to Texas, she began volunteering from 2014 – 2017 with an organization that rescues trafficked women and children through the red-light district of India and locally near her home in the DFW area.
Mondonna’s enthusiasm and professional interests lie in helping others problem solve and by promoting cognitive behavioral health depending on her client’s personal needs no matter the diverse population. She believes in getting to the core root of the issues and tackling them head-on to build character, confidence, self-worth, and personal value within to find happiness and peace of mind. She makes the client’s needs a priority.
