About Rita

Rita is a native Texan, born and bred, and graduated from Texas Wesleyan University with a B.A. in English and a minor in Spanish in 2005. Currently, she is studying at Capella University for her Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy. Rita is joining Alliance Child and Family services as a graduate practicum student. She is excited to have the opportunity to work with diverse populations and help them along their path wherever they may find themselves. Rita is interested in working with couples, children, individuals, and families. Rita believes that individuals possess the skills to pull from their strengths and discover solutions from within. Rita’s approach to therapy is collaborative and views individuals as the experts of their own lives stemming from Narrative and Solution Focused Based therapy models. She also believes that when individuals find the exception to any challenging situation, they become empowered and build skills to better manage or cope with difficult life situations.
