Introducing Shared Medical Appointments or “SMAs”!
Shared Medical Appointments is a unique collaboration between Alliance Child & Family Solutions LLC or “ACFS Texas” and Progressive Psychiatry, P.A. to offer world-class psychiatric treatment in a comprehensive and affordable manner.
Who is eligible to participate?
√ Current ACFS Clients who:
- Are under the age of 18 years old,
- Have participated in an Initial Assessment and at least 3 sessions,
- Have paid all outstanding balances, and
√ Are diagnosed with any of the following:
- Anxiety
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
- Oppositional Defiant Disorder
- Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
SMA Structure:
- Families participating in the SMA will be a part of an engaging, educational group that addresses issues surrounding general mental health, parenting, and other relevant topics with a seasoned, licensed mental health professional. These educational sessions will be conducted in coordination with the families’ scheduled meetings with the Psychiatrist.
- Initial & Follow Up Psychiatric Evaluations are 1-on-1 with the Psychiatrist and Staff to review your concerns and discuss medications and side effects to develop the best plan for you.

- Provides education and support to parents,
- Ensures coordinated behavioral health care,
- Empowers families with their mental health,
- Allows expedient medication review,
- Reduces wait times for appointments, and
- Normalizes mental health treatment.
How are fees discounted for SMA’s?
√ Initial Psychiatric Evaluation: $300 $100*
√ Follow Up Appointments: $150 $50*
*These fees are discounted as a part of the collaboration. Clients are eligible to participate in individual sessions with Psychiatrist for the regular rate.
Progressive Psychiatry, P.A. is offering the Shared Medical Appointments (SMA’s) as a medical service; thus you will become a medical patient of Progressive Psychiatry, P.A. (see www.progressivepsychiatry.org/ for more details).
